This man preferred not to be named. He has an MA in history and owns an agricultural store. He was treated for leprosy between 2007 and 2008 and blames the government's lack of responsibility about awareness for his problems:

"If I had received MDT when I had patches, I would have not got these deformities.
I have ulcers on my feet for which I take medicine and treatment.
In spite of me being so educated I did not know that anaesthetic patches are a symptom of leprosy.
Everyone in my family knows I had leprosy, and I had them all examined for leprosy. But I have not told anybody else.
There should be public awareness done."
